WHO IS Terrance "Terry" Sawchuk?

Well, I’m not the Hall of Fame NHL goalie of the same name—though as a kid, making it to the NHL was my dream. I never got to lace up in the big leagues, but at least I have my name on the Stanley Cup four times.

I’m originally from a small paper mill town of 5,500 people in Northern Ontario, Canada. Over the past three decades, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to journey through the music industry as a songwriter, artist, producer, and mixer. That path wasn’t a straight line—it included failing 9th-grade music, quitting high school, then going back and finishing. But from those beginnings, I went on to sell millions of records, co-write the Country Song of the Decade, and collaborate with brave, brilliant artists like Alanis Morissette, Phil Collins, Jake Owen, and Sara Bareilles.

Mission Statement: 

My mission is to pull back the curtain of the music and technology industries and reveal the structures that have historically kept creators at a disadvantage. I aim to demystify the business side of music so that music creators can reclaim control over their careers.

At the core, I guide creators how to:

 • Own their art and intellectual property rather than give it away.

 • Leverage their music, data, and story to create opportunities and income streams.

 • Streamline their creative and business processes so they can focus on making art while staying profitable.

 • Sustain their careers by building long-term models of independence, resilience, and growth.

This mission is about evening the playing field—shifting the power back into the hands of the creators. It’s not just education, but empowerment: giving artists the tools, frameworks, and mindset to thrive in an industry that often undervalues them.

That’s why I launched $old 4 a $ong — a bold brand and movement to help artists reclaim their value. It includes:

• $old 4 a $ong Book – a raw and honest guide to creator self-worth, ownership, and industry survival

• $old 4 a $ong Academy – an on-demand course and that create a direct road map for artists to build sustainable career.

• $old 4 a $ong Podcast – where I pull back the curtain on the industry and spotlight alternative paths to creative and financial freedom

• $old 4 a $ong 1-on-1 mentoring – personalized artist development focused on the $old 4 a $ong philosophy.

I will also be releasing my own solo music on this platform soon. It's my escape hatch to release the music I want how I want when I want. 

Beyond music, I’m have two new unique ventures:

• RESASTER Inc – a nonprofit initiative turning natural disaster devastation into opportunity by repurposing disaster debris into products and profits that give back to the affected communities

• U Rawk Miniatures – a collectible figurine/tv/music platform that celebrates acts of kindness and builds meaningful connections between artists and fans.

At the core of everything I do is this: To awaken my unique purpose to serve others with the purpose of awakening the same in them.
